Summer is finally here! It's so beautiful, sunny, and warm! Summer activities keep the kids so busy. How do you guys cope and deal? This is our first summer doing activities with our preschooler and it has been hectic running around with work, daycare pick up, meals and getting him to activities in time. They do miss their friends though without school so sometimes, it's nice to see some of them at activities or even sleep overs!

So, it can get tiring to read age-appropriate books to a preschooler. Don't get me wrong, we love to read all sorts of books but sometimes it's nice to read a good chapter book too. So one of our favorite chapter books to read is the Explorer Academy series. We have read 5 in the series already and it's amazing how much my preschooler follows along. I cannot believe we are already at the end of the series, the final installment, the 7th book! It was actually quite funny because when I brought this up to my preschooler, he immmediately, like me...went, but we haven't read the 6th book yet! So, to my delight and from our friends at Nat Geo Kids, we are so happy to introduce one of our favorite series that is now on the heart-pounding finale!

Did you know being outdoors is therapeutic? It truly is! There have been studies put out that 20-30 minutes outdoors for up to 2 hours per week is the optimal time frame to decrease cortisol in our bodies, otherwise known as the stress hormone. So, being outdoors is great for stress and depression. That being said though, what kid doesn't love being outdoors? I know mine does!

Though it hasn't quite warmed out in our part of the woods, Easter is here already. This means more time outdoors for our family. Sometimes, out on the golf course...other times, just on simple walks with our dogs. Lately though, we've had a lot more fun on our walks and when looking outside the window. "Why?", you ask. I always enjoy a good book but I am ecstatic that my preschooler loves books as much as I do. In fact, our book shelves seem to be bursting at the seam. He loves reading all sorts of books. We read chapter books, picture books, facts and his current age is just so much fun to interact with, particuarly with certain National Geographic Kids Books. Oh, the dinos that this mother knows. Mmmhmm, I've always loved dinsoaurs as a kid and that love didn't completely dissipate as I got older. However, a mother always LOVES it when her adorable preschooler just happens to love the same things. My goodness, when I told him we'd be getting some Dino books soon, every day, he'd check the door and say, "Maybe Dino books?". So yes, my little Dino lover was just a bit excited for what was to come. Every day for about a week, he'd ask to see if his Dino books had arrived yet! Who could blame him? It made me excited just watching his excitment for the National Geographic collection!
