We love animals in our household so it's no surprise that our bookshelves are filled with all sorts of animal books. I think it's nice to nurture that aspect of the soul with warm, fuzzies. I always enjoy a good book but I am ecstatic that my preschooler loves books as much as I do. In fact, our book shelves seem to be bursting at the seam. He loves reading all sorts of books. We read chapter books, picture books, facts and his current age is just so much fun to interact with, particuarly with certain National Geographic Kids Books. As you might have guessed, we have a new baby! Time flies by in the blink of an eye. Our precious baby boy was born late January and well, I have had delusions about what I would have accomplished during my maternity leave. I have to say I will sorely miss him when I start my day job again shortly. If there is anything I've learned...being a first-time mother is rough, even when you think you know it all already. There is so much to learn and do that there is really little to no time for yourself to recuperate after the birthing process and the 9 months of pregnancy. After standing all day and walking for work, my feet are always sore, especially if I've been in heels all day. To be honest, I'm more of a runners type of gal, but I still can't resist a gorgeous pair of booties, boots, or pumps. Mmmhmm, the price we pay to wear those beautiful glass slippers to turn into Cinderella, right? So, how do you recuperate after a day out in the heels? I have friends who can do 6" heels and walk like a seductive goddess. I have no clue how they manage it since I can barely walk in 3" heels and that's if they're the super comfy kind too. Regardless, I've found a fantastic solution to my sore feet at the end of the day.

As an aunt of 3 nephews and a new niece, I am always looking for great gifts that will not only be fun but also educational. Well, there's also the cute stuff too. I haven't been able to stop shopping for baby clothes since my friends' have been pregnant! However, I'm a huge fan of the fun educational stuff. Kids pick up the most when they're young and it's when their minds are being moulded. I am multilingual and love it. As a kid, I loved my languages. I found foreign languages not only romantic but also useful. As a career woman, I wish I remembered more of my languages so that I can communicate with more people. I still love learning from others and picking tidbits of other languages here and there. Soda, or pop as I like to call it, is somewhat a staple in our apartment. We always have it! We also recycle bottles and unfortunately, that means we accumulate mountains of empty bottles in the little area in our hallway. It hasn’t been pleasant. It’s bulky and it gets in the way.
