What do you know about the Legacy of Sleepy Beauty and Maleficent? We all know of the connection between Aurora and Maleficent, our classic protagonist and antagonist. Did you ever wonder how Disney came up with the concept for Maleficent? It was such a different yet acceptable explanation for Maleficent’s character that it made me curious. The elegant and regal, perhaps not so evil, Maleficent arrives in homes November 4th. I absolutely love the story behind Maleficent, the untold story of how things truly happened. How Maleficent's pure heart was corrupted and became ever so black, yet held onto some of her pureness. How love can appear in all shapes, sizes and forms. The movie is a must-add addition to any Disney collector's movie library in conjunction with Sleeping Beauty, that's already in stores. While Maleficent is truly a magnificent movie, the bonus features aren't to be missed.

While we were at the Walt Disney Estate, we not only toured the beautiful premises but also got the chance to speak with David Jessen (VP of Content Enhancement) and Sarah Hyland in celebration for the release of Sleeping Beauty, Diamond Edition which is available today!

Wow, never in my life, would I think I'd be able to tour the Walt Disney Estate. This was the first home Walt built for him and his wife and where the family grew. It took 2 months and $50K. Today, it is a private home owned by a Russian film director and not open to the public. They were generous enough to open up their home for us to see in honor of the upcoming release of Sleeping Beauty October 7th since they are huge Disney fans themselves! We received a tour from Disney historian Paula Sigman Lowery, which means you also now get a glimpse of the magic we witnessed.

When I first saw this exclusive clip off Sleeping Beauty, I was in the Walt Disney Estate theater. Simply put, I was captivated and stunned. This was way before Sarah Hyland even walked in. Why? Disney Animation has some very talented artists. Walt Disney Animation Visual Development artist Brittney Lee created a three dimensional sculpture of Maleficent, completely out of construction paper.

My last several months have been a roller coaster of ups and downs, today included. I was probably about 90% done this post when I had technical difficulties and the whole thing deleted itself. So here, I am, starting again with the notion that perhaps this trip truly was meant to be.
