#Ozeri has me #cooking up a storm! #food #holidaygiftguide

Christmas Gift Ideas 2012
Cooking healthy meals are a big part of my lifestyle. Sure, I’ll eat out from time to time but if I’m at home, I really try to make my meals taste good without unnecessary additives. Ozeri. has made it a bit easier for me to do just that. I received the Salad Spinner and Green Earth Wok for review.
Whenever I used to wash the vegetables, it would take them forever to dry and even when I though they were dry, there’s still be little puddles at the bottom of my containers! It’s fine if you eat your salad all in one meal. When you have to store it in the fridge though, that water eventually making the vegetables soggy. Eww! The Ozeri FRESHSPIN Salad Spinner and Serving Bowl ($39.99) takes care of that. It serves multiple functions:
1) It’s a strainer/colander (4.24qt/4L) to wash your vegetables in.
2) It’s a spinner, with a few spins, it dries out your vegetables quite a bit.
3) It’s a salad bowl.

I fell in love with this when I first used it. Did you see the pool of water that resulted from the spinning? I was lazy and tossed a bunch of veggies from that night’s salad in to wash. It easily dried it all out. It features frictionless spin action with an instant stop button so you don’t have to worry about your vegetables flying everywhere. When you’re done, you use the 5.5qt/5.2 L plastic serving bowl to serve your salad. It was really simple to use and I made my salad in a jiffy. It can easily make enough salad for a get together with friends and family. If you can't finish it, just pop the lid on and toss it in the fridge. I only had 2 issues with it though. One, I had hoped it’d mix the salad with it’s spinning action. Unfortunately, that does not happen. The spinning only dries out the contents. Two, since it is such a large container, it is a bit harder to store.
My other item was the 12" Ozeri Green Earth Wok ($99.99, Amazon $52.95). It utilizes greblon ceramic coating from Germany that contains no heavy metals or chemicals. Not only is it scratch resistant, it is also a non-stick pan! This was a fairly large wok, accommodating even a 1.5lb lobster. It was tough and I probably should’ve stuck to a lobster closer to a pound but it still worked! It does get real heavy filled with water though. Other than that, it’s surprisingly light.
I loved cooking in it! Due to its non-stick properties, I’ve been able to use to cook vegetables, omelettes, fried rice and so on…all WITHOUT using a drop of oil. Serious! I’ve been very impressed with this wok. Easy to use, easy to clean…I’ve been using it almost every day now!

I would love to have this salad spinner, I always try to dry my salad greens by blotting them with paper towels, but it doesn't work that well, this would be much better!

Salad spinners are awesome. I had a wok years ago but didn't know how to use it. I'd love to give it another try.
