Interesting & fun facts you never knew US/CAN 11/23 #holidaygiftguide

Christmas Gift Ideas 2012
Have you ever read a National Geographic Kids Book? I haven’t and I think that may change. They combine fun topics, pictures, and more to fool you into wanting to look at all these interesting facts but in reality, there’s a lot of educational value hidden behind it.
Fun facts book review
This fall National Geographic Kids Books consists of two fact-filled books geared towards middle graders (ages 8-12). I’ll let you on a secret though, the books were amusing to me too! 5,000 Awesome Facts (About Everything!) and That's Gross: Icky Facts That Will Test Your Gross-Out Factor are titles that’ll catch the kids attention this Christmas. Speaking of Christmas, I’m very pleased to announce that they were generous enough to send me an extra copy of these two books to donate to the Pediatrics Hematology and Oncology Unit! I just dropped those off a couple weeks back and they couldn’t be happier. Thank you!

Alright, back to it. 5,000 Awesome Facts is filled with color and information on a bunch of different topics. Of course, being the dog lover that I am, I flipped to the doggy page! Of course, there are pages on sports, sharks, history, robots, spies, and so much more. This could easily be hours of fun reading and be interesting to all ages and genders.

That's Gross: Icky Facts that Will Test Your Gross-Out Factor is another fact filled book that may just gross some out. I tend to have a high tolerance factor for this stuff so most of these were more of an amusing read for me. I can imagine the looks and thoughts going through kids’ minds as they read this though. It’ll captivate their attention and teach them all at the same time. You’ll want to check these two out for a great holiday gift.
