The SO stole my scale #holidaygiftguide

Christmas Gift Ideas 2012
When my EatSmart Precision Elite Kitchen Scale arrived, I had intended on using it in the kitchen. It does say "Kitchen" after all. However, when it arrived, guess what happened? Yep, stolen by the SO. He was determined to weigh his putter and all of our tennis rackets to get a feel of how much they weigh. So, if you're looking for an unique holiday gift for the athlete in your life, this kitchen scale may just be it!
Precision scale for tennis rackets, golf putters
This EatSmart Precision Elite Digital Kitchen Scale I was sent has a 15lb/7kg capacity and a gorgeous stainless steel platform. At 10" x 7.5" x 1.2", it provides ample surface area but only weighs 1.5lbs. The large LED display shows measurements in grams, ounces, pounds, and kilograms, making it ever so easy to take any measurement. They even include a calorie counting book that works when you measure the food in grams.

I further tried to figure out my caloric intake from the 13.2g of cherry tomatoes I used. The conversion scale is 0.18 according to the booklet. So the handful of tomatoes that I threw into the bowl worked out to be 2.376 calories. So I got in my serving of vegetables and it was super low in calories! The calorie factor booklet is pretty straight forward to use. It's categorized by food type and then alphabetized.

I loved the look of this scale. Stainless steel is a kind of classic, sharp and clean look. It's also easy to clean. I would love to use it more if I can wrestle it from the SO. Haha, it's a great product for not only cooks but also jocks, apparently. It retails for $59.95 but you can find it on Amazon for $39.95 with Super Saver Shipping.

LOL I love the photo of the racket under the tomatoes. I'd like to get a scale too, so I can plan a better diet. Plus, I'd finally be able to make those recipes that call for grams of loose grains/veggies/herbs :)
