Christmas Gift Ideas 2013
This next holiday gift guide item appeals to a wide genre of fashion and fitness lovers. Misfit has come out with a new elegant wearable tracker called Shine. Shine functions as an activity monitor that tracks sports (swimming, biking, tennis, and more), sleep, calories, distance, and steps. Misfit hopes that this fashionable accessory will empower people to take their personal health into their own hands.
The water-resistant (up to 164') Shine can even function as a clock although you have to figure out how to turn it on first. The basic kit comes with your Shine, a battery, sport band, and a Magnet Clip.

My Shine ($119.00) came in Silver but other colors exclusive to Best Buy include Silver, Black, Champagne and Topaz. I loved the fact that I could use it as a clip or on a wrist band. It's my fun new fashion accessory. Besides that though, extra accessories can be purchased to change the look of your Shine to fit your outfit. For example, you can purchase leather bands or turn your Shine into the pendant of a necklace.

Sized at 27.5mm x 3.3mm x 27.5mm with a weight of 9.4g, the device is about the size of a loonie. There's no need to recharge the Shine, as it runs on a coin cell battery which should last about 4 months. I like that I don't have to charge it but at the same time, I don't like having to buy batteries every 4 months.
Misfit Shine Review #BestBuyWOLF
Things I liked:
-although the app to download (Shine) is for the iPhone only, I found that it worked great even on my iPad mini
-size, looks
-the clock function once you turn it on in the app
-the ability to set different goals
-the ability to track sleep and it even shows you how much time you were in deep sleep
-not having to recharge
-the sleek, slender, unisex look
-the graph of your activity over the time of day
-plugging in my age, weight and height for a tailored tracking system

Things I didn't like:
-compatible with iPhone 4S and above
-having to buy batteries every 4 months
-it was a bit of a learning curve to figure out how to use the Shine
-I'm still not sure what the points are for? You set goals by points a day

Check out Shine for your fashion-obsessed loved ones.
