New movie in production for baseball and based on true story #movie buffs

Have you heard? There's a new movie in production for all you baseball and based on true story movie buffs out there. That would also include my hubby and I. I grew up playing softball and was a huge fan of baseball too. I watched so many baseball and hockey movies as a kid. Then I met my husband and he was always into the based on true story movies. I fell in love with them too!

Next year, we'll get a combination of our loves in Disney's "Million Dollar Arm" starring Mad Men’s Jon Hamm. The film will be shooting in India, Georgia and Los Angeles.

Based on a true story, the plot follows JB Bernstein, a once-successful sports agent now edged out by competitors, as he comes up with a radical idea to save his business. It strikes him late one night, while watching a cricket game located in India on TV. Why not head to India to find the next big baseball pitcher? So he heads for Mumbai with nothing but a scout (Alan Arkin). In India, a televised, nationwide competition called “Million Dollar Arm” is held where 40,000 hopefuls compete.

2 18-year-old finalists, Rinku and Dinesh (Suraj Sharma, Madhur Mittal), finally emerge as winners and are brought back to the United States to train. The goal is simple, get the boys signed to a major league team. As expected though, the transition may not be easy and what comes out of this may be more than what JB ever bargained for.

Directed by Craig Gillespie (“Lars and the Real Girl,” “Fright Night”), produced by Mark Ciardi, Gordon Gray, and Joe Roth, this movie is one to keep your eye on next year.
