Look out! @BrooklynNets & @CookiesKids on a mission to save Christmas for Kids affected by Sandy #CookiesKids #CBias

Charity event at #CookiesKids
Well, Hurricane Sandy's come and gone but what about the people left behind? Those who lost so much... Those that may not be having such a happy holiday season...
Kids affected by Hurricane Sandy about to go on a $250 Shopping spree at #CookiesKids with the Brooklyn Nets stars
I was happy to see so many rally for those they didn't know, including Brooklyn's own, Brooklyn Nets Foundation. Together with #CookiesKids and AMEX, they brought massive smiles onto the faces of 75 children affected by Sandy. Well, honestly, it looked like a lot more than 75. It was heartwarming to see the introduction with Cookie, the founder of Cookie's Kids, who genuinely wants to help spread the joy this holiday season.

The players seemed to fully enjoy the experience. They helped the kids shop around the store. It was interesting and slightly amusing to watch as these looming giants chatted with their little and big fans that looked up to them...in more than one way.
NBA Stars Brooklyn Nets rally for charity after Hurricane Sandy, Andray Blatche, Keith Bogans, MarShon Brooks, Josh Childress, Reggie Evans, Kris Humphries, Joe Johnson, Brook Lopez, Tornike Shengelia, Jerry Stackhouse, Tyshawn Taylor, Mirza Teletovic, Gerald Wallace, C.J. Watson, and Deron Williams
I, myself, felt at 5'6" felt tiny amongst these NBA stars that varied from 6'2" to 7'. Um, on a normal basis, I'm really not that short. Technically, I'm tall for an Asian. Some of them had to duck to avoid the hanging Christmas ornaments. Others were taller than the displays! I'd like to know what they were fed growing up. I think my future kids may need some of whatever they had.

Watson, and Deron Williams
Nevertheless, I'm happy to say that all 15 Brooklyn Nets NBA stars (Andray Blatche, Keith Bogans, MarShon Brooks, Josh Childress, Reggie Evans, Kris Humphries, Joe Johnson, Brook Lopez, Tornike Shengelia, Jerry Stackhouse, Tyshawn Taylor, Mirza Teletovic, Gerald Wallace, C.J. Watson, and Deron Williams) showed up, ready to go. It made many of us smile as we watched each player take 5-7 children around with them to go on a Cookie's Kids shopping spree!

Amex was kind enough to sponsor each child $250! The gasps of shock and excitement from pure hearted children made my day. These kids now have something to smile about, new cherished memories and a Christmas to look forward to. Check out the video coverage from NY1.
