#Affinia Shelburne -a retreat in the middle of bustling #NYC #DeliveryManMovie #travel

Remember, I was telling you about my stay in a NYC hotel despite being from here. Who lives in New York and stays at a hotel in New York, right? It was for work, kay? Since the #DeliveryManMovie press event was early the next morning, we stayed at Affinia Shelburne, nestled in Murray Hill.
Affinia Shelburne NYC hotel review
Located at 303 Lexington Avenue, New York, NY 10016, you can find it on the intersection of 37th and Lexington. You may previously know it as the Shelburne Murray Hill, renovated now to a new classic splendour. I stayed in one of the 325 new guest rooms and it was filled with classic, sleek decor. The only thing that threw us off is their signature creepy people drawings in the lobby. Those creepy figures also greeted you on your bed in the form of a log pillow.
Rare Bar & Grill does room service and dine in on the ground level. The clerk told me it's known as one of the best burger places in the city. I actually ordered one just to try and unfortunately, wasn't that impressed. Although the patty was juicy, the bottom of the burger was soggy. The onion rings were delicious! I also hear the rib eye steak was bone-licking good. I tried the Eggs Benedict in the morning and it wasn't too bad. It threw me off a bit to taste an orangy flavor in my Hollandaise sauce. It was a rather strange combination.

The view on their rooftop lounge was breath taking, even on a cloudy rainy night such as the one when we were there. Imagine what it'd look like on a nice night!

The bed was ridiculously comfortable. I fell asleep the moment my head it the pillow. I wished mine at home was just as comfortable. Internet is at a rate of $13.95 per 24 hours and I think parking is $55. You may be better off transiting instead.

Within walking distance is Bryant Park, Grand Central Station, the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, and various other attractions. After our stay, I actually walked to Rockefeller Center and Central Park.

Overall, it was a pleasant and comfortable retreat in the midst of the hustle and bustle of New York City. Yet, it provided an easy to access business center in the lobby and plenty of work and relaxation space in the guest rooms. Another hotel with great location and one to consider when you're in NYC next.

More to come on the #DeliveryManMovie press event...the Dreamworks' romantic comedy you won't want to miss October 4, 2013.

What a comfy looking bed! Why is it that after a nice hotel stay you wish you could purchase the mattress to take home with you?

There is something magical about a hotel bed that makes me instantly fall asleep too. :)
