Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Gift of Christmas compiles holiday stories that bring together family and giving hearts in this precious time of gatherings. You may have seen some of these stories in the limited edition of Tales of Christmas back in 2010. "Our Spirit of Christmas" on page 19 brought the warm fuzzies and the lump in my throat. I'm not going to tell you about it and ruin the story but this stocking stuffer is great for anyone.

For the dog and cat lovers, myself being the first kind, Chicken Soup for the Soul has a cat and dog version of the crazy antics of our furry friends. These stories had me cracking up and going, "mmhmm, I know exactly what you're talking about!" Now I know my dogs have a sense of humor and they have an uncanny way of understanding human language. They understand "walk" in multiple languages and BabyPom just proved himself the other day that he could read lips. My SO decided to tease them and mouth the word "walk" to see if they'd know what he was saying. Sure enough, BabyPom started barking and getting ready to go out as if the word had been shouted out loud. He's a smart little one.

Chicken Soup for the Soul: Think Positive for Great Health is another great book for any person. It seems rather straight forward, doesn't it? If we stay positive, we can actually be healthier. Jeff Brown, a psychologist at Harvard Medical School, shows you how to feel better and be better by using your mind and thinking positively. Anyone could use that, right? An interesting note I learnt from this book was that eating family meals together 3 times a week helps your kids learn to eat healthier on their own and decreases likelihood of being overweight. Neat, huh?
