Happy New Years! May 2021 be peaceful, warmth-filled and full of healing. I know we always enjoy a good read together as a family. It's a part of our quality time together as a family. Over the holidays, these were our favorite go-to books for bedtime and daily reading!

It's the season of giving. Megan Hess is an acclaimed fashion illustrator who works with many well known brands such as Chanel, Dior, Cartier, Montblanc and Tiffany & Co. As the official illustrator for Bloomingdales New York and worked others such as Michelle Obama and Gwyneth Paltrow. My goodness, she has quite the resume. Anyways, I digress. Megan Hess jumped into her first children's book series with The Chicest Mouse in Paris. The newest addition to her 4 book Claris series is Claris: Holiday Heist.

We've all heard of it, it covers the news outlets and medias day in and out. The pandemic has been hard on everyone. From lost jobs and income to loss of health and lives, our lives have completely changed. Not everyone understands the gravity of the situation; truth be told, there are many adults that have a hard time grasping the concepts, much less the children in our lives. A toddler doesn't understand why we're asking them not to play in a playground or hang out with their friends. However, a cooped up toddler who's lost their routine can spell trouble, more tantrums, and headaches for parents who are doing their best to provide for their families in these dark times. A beautiful thing arrived the other week...it was "The Porsche 911 Book." Oh yes, this 50th Anniversary edition couldn't have been more sexy and beautiful. Almost beautiful to the point where it would've broken my heart to take it out of the shrink wrap but I had to see the beauty inside.

Marianne Richmond is back with her newest book, "I Believe in You". If you haven't read my reviews on her books before, you should. Each and every one is filled with heartwarming words. Its always like a steaming hot chocolate on a cold winter's day. I always enjoy her works and this one is no different.

Book Review & Giveaway: The Co-walkers: Awakening by Hermine Steinberg

Hermine Steinberg's fascination with Celtic mythology and her background as a history teacher and parent served as motivation towards her book, "The Co-Walkers, Awakening". This is the first book in a trilogy which is intended for middle school students and brings a certain relatedness in our minds as the main characters go through trials in order to find themselves and their purpose in life. For that reason, I believe this book resounds deeply in our hearts and hey, who doesn't like a bit of adventure, fun and heroism, right?!

Children's Book Review: The Night Night Book

From bestselling author, Marianne Richmond, comes a another new book "The Night Night Book"! For those of you who don't know Marianne Richmond, she is a writer, artist, and greeting card company (Marianne Richmond Studios, Inc.) owner. I fell in love with her books the first time I read "If I could Keep you Little" and I was expecting great things from this book as well, and let's just say that it never failed to please.

The Synopsis:

The Night Night Book takes readers on a tour of the house as everyone settles in. Whimsical artwork and comforting scenes show kids it's time to say goodnight. Filled with text and illustrations that exemplify Marianne's real insights into the human spirit, it is an adorable bedtime story that helps kids and parents bid farewell to the day, settle in for the night and rest up for a new tomorrow.

As I was reading this book, all I kept thinking was, "How does she do this? How can she write such touching books that seem so perfect?!" This is a book that I want to read to my future children, not once or twice, but probably every night before they go to bed until they go, "Mom, I've got the book memorized, you don't need to read it anymore!" This is a must read and I would recommend it to any parent and kids; its truly a beautiful bedtime story. This book gets full marks, 10 stars out of 10.
