Keeping my #tech going at #Conferences -#NewTrent #Review

Did I ever announce that I was going to #BlogHer12? Or did life just get too busy? LOL, anyways, with a big conference like BlogHer, I was worried about my tech gadgets! The last conference I went to, I juggled my laptop, my iPad, my iPhone, and a point and shoot camera. I had everything just in case the battery died on one of them. Well, even after charging everything during the night, something would still inevitably run out of batteries the next day. Then, there was also the problem of my iPad2. I love it but it's a little hard to type on the screen. I can do it but it's a lot slower than if I was on a regular sized keyboard. I decided to do something about it for BlogHer. After all, it is one of the biggest conferences for women bloggers out there!
iPad Wireless Keyboard Review
I decided to arm myself with two of New Trent's products, the New Trent Airbender Wireless Keyboard and the New Trent IMPD52D iTorch. The wireless keyboard ($69.99, on sale for $63.95) is compatible with both the iPad2 and iPad3 and features a thermoplastic hard clam shell body, an ultra-low profile Bluetooth keyboard (6.5mm thick), a built-in auto shut off magnet, and a removable stand. I loved how the screen could be tilted whichever way you like. It can be vertical or horizontal. You could also remove the stand all together and have it stand as a separate monitor. It's light weight at 475g and can be used as a protective case for your iPad. They state that with one single charge, the battery can last over a month. The battery itself can be recharged up to 500 times via the USB cable they give you to plug into your computer. The whole thing together case is about 25mm thick, which isn't too bad. The fact that there's an on/off button is great, it saves battery when you're not using it. One feature that I didn't like was trying to open the console. When I tried lifting from the iPad side, it would keep flapping down due to the hinge and I hated the noise that created because I was hitting the iPad against the keyboard every time. What I figured out though is that if I flip open the keyboard side and supported the iPad side instead, that worked much better. Overall, it is quite user friendly and is easy to set up.

The New Trent IMPD52D iTorch ($41.99, on sale for $34.95) is a 5200mAh LED flash Charger for smart phones and iPads. They estimate that it can charge 300% of iPhone4S battery life, 35% of the iPad3 battery, 300% of Android Galaxy S2 battery and more. So, it pretty much is a multi-device charger compatible with a variety of Apple, Samsung, HTC, Motorola, Nokia, Blackberry, and LG products. It can also charge your game consoles! Further features include a flash light and laser pointer. This external battery pack fits nicely into the palm of your hand at 3.5" x 1.5" x 0.9" and 129g. It has a recharge life of 500 times and a typical charge is about 6 hours via a cable that you connect to your computer. If you have an iPhone, you can also connect your the cable provided to the iPhone's wall charger. I like how it has the laser pointer and flashlight at the end. You never know when you might need one. A multi-device charger is awesome for me because I'm always running out of batteries on my iPhone, even outside of conferences so this will be a life saver. An easy device to use and navigate so I expect even non-techies to figure it out.
iTorch review
Overall, these are both easy to use products that are great accessories for your everyday life and especially, if you have to go to conferences. They'll really help to keep my iPad2 and iPhone from failing on me and will make it easier for me to actually take the notes and pictures I want without having to worry about my technology dying on me. I may even save your phone at BlogHer.

Thanks for the review! I've tried two different wireless keyboards for my iPad and disliked both of them...
