#Shopcade is Pinterest but funner and with rewards!

Shopcade
I recently heard of Shopcade, a social shopping application on Facebook. You essentially make Pinterest-like boards of products that you would recommend and you earn rewards. When people make a purchase, you get a small cut...a really really small cut. I was playing around with it and was frustrated at first because I had no clue what to do. I think if they had some sort of step by step instructions, it would be amazing. Once I got the hang of it, it was pretty fun. I could add brands that I liked and add stuff I liked to my own boards. By adding stuff, following people, and having them follow you, you earn points. These points are used to customize your assistant (LOL, dress them up, give them a hairstyle) OR trade for rewards.

Since my birthday is coming up, I decided to created a fashion/style wish list. ;) Unfortunately, despite the large number of brands they had, they still didn't have some of my favorite brands.  I'm a pretty casual dresser but I also like to dress things up, whether it's for work or going out. It all depends on my mood that day so you'll see a wide variety of items in my wish list. Go take a look and let me know what you think. I was able to find some new brands that were had great looks and affordable prices too. Umm...I'm tempted to buy those items every time I go take a look at my list.

The other thing I discovered when I was playing around with Shopcade is that there's a giveaway button on the left. Just by following the brand that's sponsoring the giveaway, you earn an entry. You can also tweet or post to facebook for more entries. It's neat because it's like a bonus thing to have. They also have discount codes in that same column which you receive if you follow those brands. The discounts aren't bad.

Overall, once you get past the initial difficulty of figuring out how to use Shopcade, it's pretty fun and easy to do with. I see it more as a way to share your fashion and style and earn points than earning money. I posted some fairly high end products on my page and the turnover was only a dollar something even if someone actually bought that item. I don't think this is going to be a big source of income for me. It's a great way to have some fun and share potential sales with your buddies. With the rewards system, you can collect points and trade in for products. I took a look at the rewards page and it does look pretty cool. However, no points were listed for the time being so I don't know how many points you'd need to trade for these points. We'll have to see...

Come vote for me, I have a chance to win $100 and if you leave a comment on the items on my board, you could win $50 too. One person who leaves comments on the boards involved in this promotion will be randomly be drawn to win $50 by MVM.
