#JourneyGym #Review -The #Portable Solution for your #health & #fitness

Journey Gym

I have a confession to make, I haven't been to a gym or used a workout machine in probably more than half a year now. That doesn't mean I don't like it. I love the weights and ab machines but I just don't have to time to go to the gym. If it was by me, it wouldn't be as much of a problem. I'm also on the move quite often and will be still for the next couple years so its really hard to purchase a gym membership. When I found the Journey Gym, I was in awe.
Journey Gym easy workout weight loss aid Home Gym Review
Imagine this, your own personal at home gym that packs up into what looks like a briefcase and goes with you wherever. How convenient is that? Now that is definitely something that suits my busy whirlwind lifestyle. I was incredibly excited before I even received the Journey Gym to review because I was ready to add a work out to my Nutrisystem diet in order to maximize my weight loss.

Some quick stats on the journey gym:
-complete, lightweight, compact and durable universal gym
-total body workout and is a good source of resistance, cardiovascular, and circuit training
-comes with:
  • 20 resistance bands (5 on each side + 10 additional bands) for a customizable resistance of 5-75 pounds per side
  • Adjustable handles
  • Full set of legs to convert the system into a stair stepper
  • A workout DVD specifically designed for the gym including a 5 minute set up video, a 10 minute circuit tone workout and a 20 minute circuit strength workout
  • Free online community
  • where you can create exercise videos, track your activity and nutrition, and share your progress.
  • Free shipping and handling for U.S. and Canada.
Initially, I tested out the Journey Gym without doing the exercise videos because I was playing around with the set up. I've currently have it set up beside the bed in the bedroom as a constant reminder to try and get some training in! With the 3 resistance levels, I found a happy medium on the blue. It actually feels challenging and I love the feel of my muscles burning. I have been doing the 10 minute training video during this past week and although I'm not getting my heart rate up, I still enjoyed the resistance training and felt my core, arm, and leg muscles at work.

working out
Two people can work out on the gym at the same time, given that together they weigh less than 350 pounds. That means the SO and I may just make it under the limit. Hehe...but I'll kick him off since I want to use it! Overall, love the portability of it and functionality of the whole system. My only concern arises when I use it the resistance bands above my head. It feels as though the straps are cutting into my arms. The good thing, however, is that if you're following the instructional DVD, you're really never doing that for more than a minute at a time so its a bit of pain during the exercise that'll go away within 5-10 minutes.

The question in my mind always was, how portable is it really? As in...how much does the system weigh? Well, I weighed it and its about 12.7lbs. This can easily be carried around, even for a small woman and in fact, it could be a light work out. This would be great on road trips or even just working out at home. I think it could be a great fitness tool for men and women alike!

This would be so nice to have! I travel a lot to babysit my grandkids and it would be great to have all this variety of workouts with me everywhere!

A 10 minute circuit tone workout I could see me doing but a 20 minute circuit strength workout? I doubt it. My hubby would love it. I like my Tai Chi, I think I'll stick with that.

This would be wonderful to take to the office. I have an hour lunch but it's not long enough to make it to the Gym and work out and back to the office. A couple of the women I work with would like this too. Great review thanks~!

I have just started working out doing circuit training and this would be great to take on road trips when I can't get to the local gym.
