What exactly is this? The mysterious fruit...

LOL, so my family went grocery shopping today...saw a bunch of people shopping and hovering over this fruit and decided it looked neat and wanted to try it too. And here we are now, just wondering what it is. What would we do without a little bit of mystery in our lives? ;)

Its yellow and has these whitish stripes down the sides and has this deliciously sweet smell to it. Any clues? They told me the sign said "yellow sweet-smelling melon". LOL, which really is quite obvious but what is its actual name? Its kind of hard in texture and almost tastes like a normal green melon.

What are your thoughts? Have you tried this before?

Until next time,

I'm at a total loss here. I'll go with Skye's answer.

Hi,

Just Hopping By from the Not So Moody Monday Blog Hop :-)

I have no idea what that is, but it doesn't really look like a fruit...I was thinking a kind of squash at first glance...hmmm.

I am now your newest follower. I hope you will stop by my blog as well, at http://IamNannyAnna.blogspot.com

So, its definitely a fruit... but not a crenshaw melon. This was a bit smaller and looks a little different. I can wrap my hand about 3/4 around the melon if that describes it a little more. Still a mystery to me!

I'm not sure of the name, but I like the idea of trying something new. Sometimes when we're shopping I have the kids pick up a fruit or vegetable that we've never tried. It's a fun adventure.

Isn't it weird how you can go into the market and see things you have never seen before in the produce section. Hope your family enjoys it and can figure out the mystery.

THANKS
Michele
