GlassesUSA.com #Promotional Codes!

Glasses are an essential part of my life...and my family's for that matter and I don't think I've ever owned a pair of glasses that costed me less than a couple hundred bucks. Plus, you know glasses are a fashion statement. I used to have those big, old geeky clunkers and I really hated them.

Design Star anyone?

So I've been watching the past season of Design Star lately on Hulu and its been quite interesting! I've always loved watching the shows on HGTV because I feel it gives me some inspiration as to what I 'd like to put into my place once I settle in. However, I really don't have the time right now to build myself a stand so I decided to look online for some sweet LCD TV stands that would convey both style and functionality!

This one was completely in my strike zone.

Its slightly asymmetric which I think gives it a gorgeous finish and I've always loved the look of dark wood! Not only that, it even has some closed drawers so that you can hide away the crap that's in your living room to make that clutter disappear when guests come. Overall, a sleek and sophisticated TV stand with a luxurious feel. I love it!

Need to revamp your living room? Take a look and use TVMar10 for 10% off any purchase over $499.

Christmas Ideas #1: Gear Ties!! OMG...the fun!!

Okay, the very first of many items that I bring to you for super Christmas gift ideas would be the Gear Tie. Have you heard of them? I'll admit, this was the very first time I heard of them and boy am I glad I did. I had such a fun time reviewing these.

So what are Gear Ties, you ask?
Technically, they're reusable rubber twist ties built with a soft rubber outside for grip and a strong wire inside to hold the shape. They can be used for anything...literally! You can use them to tie and bundle small cords and cables. They come in a bunch of different sizes: 3", 6", 18", 24", and 32". So, choose your size and make the magic happen... If you dare, keep reading to see what innovative ways I tried to use the gear ties I was sent for. I was sent Gear Ties in 3", 6", and 18". A note of warning though, if you don't have a sense of humor, you may find one of my inventions distasteful. :P However, in the same sense, I think Gear Ties are great for people of all ages just because they can be used not just for functional purposes but also for fun play time for kids. They're even decently priced: 4 x 3" ties for $4.99, 4x 6" ties for $5.99, 2 x 18" ties for $5.49, 2 x 24" ties for 5.99, and 2 x 36" ties for 6.99.

What was my favorite feature?? Definitely the color! I love the colors and the brightness, it just made them that much more fun to play with!

Without further ado, here it comes! My attempts at creativeness!

Masterpiece #1: Highlighter holder -I made this with the 18" tie. To make the highlighters easier to grab, I had them propped up. This could be a great idea for kids to college students or really anyone who wants to play and make a cool stand for their highlighters.

Masterpiece #2: A purse Hanger -Again with the 18" tie, I just twisted it easily to make something that would hang my purse up in the closet instead of leaving it lying on my desk. It'll help me clear up a lot of room on my desk and with it in the closet, I can easily grab it on my way out the door. My purse is heavy, trust me, and it held great!

Masterpiece #3: LOL...my artistic as well as immature and fun side comes out...you may want to skip this if you lack a sense of humor or are about to eat! I present to you --> The Supreme "Doo"

Masterpiece #4: Okay, fine, I'll make something nicer, here's a butterfly for the girly girls out there...I used an assortment of 3" ties.

Masterpiece #5: I used an assortment of 3" ties and the 18" tie to keep my cords together and organize them with my new funky organizer.

Masterpiece #6: An iphone stand! Woot! Its not as pretty as the one they showed on the Gear Tie site but it still works.

Masterpiece #7: Accessories anyone? This could be a interesting way to make a jewellery holder for anyone from kids to adults. Twist and bend to make a holder you'd like. I made mine from a 6" Gear Tie and hung my ring on it.

So, as you can see, there are so many different ideas and functions that can be used for Gear Ties and they are suitable for people of all ages. I don't really have a cons side to discuss about them and that's rare because I like to have both a pros and a cons side when I talk about products. This one gets 10 stars out of 10 and would be perfect as a stocking stuffer.

Buy It: To purchase any of the items from Gear Ties, shop online now.Especially for my readers, Gear Tie is currently offering a promotional code too. Enter 'HOLIDAY1' to get 15% off your purchase. Expires 12/31.

Mark. Body Cares that Cares...but does it hit the mark?

I was recently sent some Mark Body Care products as part of a new Bzzagent campaign. I was very excited to try these products because well, I'm a woman and I feel a need to take care of my body. So any chance I get to try out body products, I jump on it! I'm sure most of us women out there and even some men are interested in taking care of our bodies and finding a cream that is both nourishing and not too thick.  I was sent four products and I have to say my opinion varies for each one. Read on to find out what best suits you.

I really enjoyed the fact that Mark uses Fair Trade Certified Ingredients such as Mexican honey, Indian white tea, Peruvian cocoa butter and Egyptian hibiscus in their products to their plight to help poverty around the world. I commend them on that.

Product 1: Relief effort Total Comfort Body Creme
This is a creamy, fragrance-free whipped body cream that is supposed to provide 24hr hydration.  I used this after my showers every night and I liked it. Its perfect for those with fragrance allergies as it is unscented, however, I did sense a mild scent. It was enjoyable in the sense that it did not feel greasy at all as I applied it and it went on easily and smoothly. It also has the capacity of lasting awhile even with daily use. MRSP of this is $14 which I think fares about the same or is a bit less than Body Shop prices.

Product 2: Do the Right thing Smoothing Body Lotion SPF 15
This is a lightweight, fragrance-free body lotion packed with antioxidants and SPF15 protection. I try to use this on my hands before I head out in the morning but to be honest, I have to leave so early in the morning and I'm at the hospital all day that I am frankly unable to tell you how good it'd be against the sun. This was much more liquid in texture than the Body Creme and it was alright as well. It had the same mild smell and was non-greasy. I have to say I preferred the Total comfort Body Creme over this as it almost felt a bit too light for me. MRSP $12.

Product 3: Fresh Approach Hydrating Body Cleanser
This is a fragrance free, hydrating body cleanser to cleanse and hydrate skin. This had an incredible watery texture... I can't say it felt very hydrating because it just felt too watery. I think the watery texture was also one of the reasons I ran out so quickly of it. My bottle was empty in the matter of a week and a half and with a MRSP of $10, I'm afraid I really can't afford to pay $10 for a body cleanser every 2 weeks. Besides though, it is again got that mild fragrance so for the most part, these first 3 products are great for those who are allergic to fragrances or enjoy mild fragrances. It was definitely an ok product but I think a bit of work needs to be done on its texture.

Product 4: The Big Fix 15 in 1 Big Benefits Balm
This is a travel friendly, multifunctional moisturizing balm that can be used anytime, anywhere. I'm going to be very blunt about this one. I was the most excited in seeing this product, but I was also the most disappointed in this product which wasn't that bad considering I was really hyped up for it. It was a great idea! I loved the functionality of it and the small, carry in my pocket size. Like I said, I'm at the hospital all day and being in surgery, I'm constantly scrubbing and washing my hands so I definitely need something to protect me from the damaging effects I put my hands through on a daily basis! I thought this was perfect for me. I guess it was. The only thing I really didn't like was the smell. This balm had a much stronger smell than any of the other products...and my colleagues had actually complained of the smell after being very excited to try it out. The other downpoint of this product was that it went on greasy, very greasy. My hands were shining like oil in a frying pan after I applied it and rubbed it all in. MRSP $10. I think this could possibly be worth it if they fixed up the scent and made it non-greasy. I totally need something like this and I think they had a great idea going...it just needs to be tweaked a little.

Bottom line:
Relief Effort Total Comfort Body Cream: Totally hits the mark! I loved this product.
Do the Right thing smoothing body lotion: SPF 15: mmm...I'd say this would be fairly close to the mark
Fresh Approach Hydrating Body Cleanser: I would say this was kind of close to hitting the mark but fell a bit short.
15 in 1 Balm: I have really mixed feelings about this one. Its the feeling of the arrow hitting the mark and then falling off. Honestly, it needs improvement and I feel once it has improved, it'd be a superb product and I would love it to death.

Overall, I did enjoy the new Mark Body Care line and would advise people to try it. If you are interested in trying it, there is currently a promotion code (BUYFT3) going on at their site which is the only place you can find these products right now. It gives you $3 off any product and there are no limits.
