If you've read any of my posts, you'll know I'm always a fan of independent, strong women. It is always nice to have an equal, a partner, however I wholeheartedly believe that us women should be able to take care of ourselves as well. So, The Marvels just called to me, not just 1 woman superhero but 3! 3! You've got to love it.

Synopsis:
Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole, her powers are entangled with super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and work together to save the universe.

Check out the trailer:
The Marvels was quite interesting. However, it was a bit challenging to follow for the little ones and even for my husband, who is as much of a Marvel fan as me! I think it all made sense in the end but I have to admit, I love Carol's pet Flerken! Goose, the pet Flerken, was kind of in a cute/creepy way hilarious. Ms. Marvel was a bit overly enthusiastic/fan-girling over Captain Marvel but it was also nice to watch her stop fan-girling and get the job done.

With any Marvel movie, we always look for the Easter eggs at the end. The Easter Egg this time seems to hint at more crosses between The Marvels and the X-men universe. Plus...maybe more teenage superheroes to appeal to the younger crowd.

In short, I'm all for the girl power. Was the storyline a bit confusing? Definitely! You had to be paying attention to truly get it. Higher, farther, faster, together! If anything, I love the motto! The Marvels is probably more suited for die-hard Marvel fans that understand the characters more in depth. Worth a watch in my opinion, empowering our girls, however it unfortunately does not make it into my top 10 favorite Marvel movies. Goose though...may make it into some of my favorite characters.
