So, it seems I'm pretty creative and yes, I just tooted my own horn. Well, BlogPaws had this captioning contest awhile back and I'm very excited to say that I won! That meant I was lucky enough to get an all-inclusive trip to this year's BlogPaws, social media conference.

When I went to my first conference, I had no idea what I was doing. I tried to read up on tips, which helped, but didn't prepare me 100%. I went to the conference armed with business cards, cell phone which I as a camera, a back-up camera, and my laptop. I definitely underestimated how much I would be using my tech devices. As a techie, I was a total failure. My cell and camera were consistently dying and with back to back events, I couldn't get them charged in time. I didn't have time to go back to my room and find a charger! I needed to be around. LOL, I learnt my lesson though and have come to love external chargers.

While at Barkworld, we got an exclusive opportunity to interview Norman, the Scooter Dog, thanks to Natural Balance. A whirlwind at #Barkworld? Part 2 of the furtastic fun!

As I learnt earlier this year, conferences are wonderful for so many reasons. I enjoy the networking, the new friends, and of course, reconnecting and spending time with old friends. It really is a short and precious few days to learn, connect, and even at times do some good.

I recently got back from Barkworld, another pet-friendly conference situated in Atlanta, GA. Only this time, I had neither of the pups with me. Honestly, it was such a last minute decision with my chaotic schedule, as usual. I am so glad I was able to make it though! It's been several years since I've been to Georgia and it's still as friendly and welcoming as always. My arrival was somewhat grand with a limo shuttle bus service being sponsored by Bayer. The bus had colored lights, tv screens and a cute little bar! Our greeter quizzed us on cat and dog questions making the shuttle ride short and sweet.

Well, ever since I stepped foot in my first conference, I've been bitten by a bug. A conference bug. I have a ball meeting new and old friends and getting to know PR reps. I learn, I have fun, and it's just a great experience overall. I'm about to be off to my second pet conference this year, Barkworld! It'll be my first time there and it kicks off next Thursday. I don't know if you remember but we met Norman the Scooter Dog for the first time at BlogPaws earlier this year and he loved #BabyPom!

Did you know JR was adopted? Lately, the fluffy cuteness of her baby brother, Baby Pom, has been stealing her thunder but she has her own quality traits. To be honest, when I was in the city that day, I had no intentions of getting a dog. I'm a dog lover but it just didn't seem right in my life at the time. My goal in the city at that point was to pick up some literature for work from Barnes and Nobles. It just so happened that Petco was next door and this woman who would forever change my life was holding an adoption event. I, as all curious bystanders would, took a peek...

I Survived #BlogHer12!

So, I survived #BlogHer12, the biggest conference for women (and some men) bloggers in my opinion. The conference that I looked forward to attending ever since I started blogging over 2 years ago. This year, 4500 attendees were at the Hilton NYC where there were sessions to better ourselves, chances to meet and connect with brand reps, and parties to relax and get to know others. It all passed in a blur! Would you believe I only got 7 hours of sleep total over 3 days?! I attended both Healthminder Day and BlogHer. I started off Healthminder Day with the US Army Bootcamp which wrecked havoc on my core. I was feeling the effects the day after and call me weird, but I loved the burn! Now, if only I can remember all of the exercises we did, I'd have a six pack by the end of this summer! I also had my first mimosa that day at the #BrandsWeLove event. Mmm...good food, people, and brands! You really can't beat that.

It's over already? Awwwww! So sad that it's already over and I can't see the fluffy ones anymore. BlogPaws helped me grow my connections, my friendships, and most importantly, it has had profound effects on the future of WOS and my own personal capabilities. Hell, I hope you guys will continue to be friends with us. :) Perhaps, the most important person who started this was Felissa from Two Little Cavaliers. Had she not told me about BlogPaws, I wouldn't have been dead set on going and entering all those giveaways that got Chloe to notice WOS. LOL, one thing led to another and viola, your personal Attendee Repawter had arrived at her very first conference with #BabyPom in tow.

Holy dog! This really has been a whirlwind of a couple of days at #BlogPaws. I'll be the first to admit that showing up at my very first conference ever yesterday...I was petrified. I know I can be awkward, I'm more of a shy person until you get to know me...LOL, then I'm crazy. However, let this be a lesson to my fellow newbies at BlogPaws. It gets easier, I promise. Sure, the first person you talk to may look at you like you're from Mars. And I'm pretty sure I did that with PetSmart. Ha! It definitely got better with time though and you know what? Pet people are so friendly. I feel so much more comfortable talking to everyone else now. Let's not forget all the cute, furry ones...there were people with dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, and capybaras (Such a cool name, look them up!). I know, I'm a little bit biased towards dogs but I love all animals.
